Katy Perry’s Album Not All About Heartbreak
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Pop,
Katy Perry's next album won't all be about her heartbreak.
It has been speculated the "Part of Me" singer's third album will be about her upset in the wake of her divorce from comedian Russell Brand, but she has promised there will be an upbeat side to it as well.
"I'd never devote a whole record to heartbreak. I'm happy, I'm in a good place, I'm looking forward to my future," she told The Sun.
Katy also spoke about scenes in the movie when her marriage was in trouble, and why she included them in the film: "For me it was important with this movie not to ignore that elephant in the room. I am not hiding anything, but I had to put it in with integrity and consideration because that's how I make all my choices, because I believe in karma."

The Strokes Clean Up For Their New Album
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Rock,
The Strokes have quite drinking and smoking to record their new album.
The "Last Night" band are recording their fifth album in New York, and have cleaned up their act so they can concentrate on the new material, according to guitarist Albert Hammond Jr.'s father.
"They're back, strong and mature, a lot of them have quit smoking and drinking and all the good things that come with rock 'n' roll, or whatever people think comes with rock 'n' roll," Albert senior said.
Albert also acknowledged the band almost split when they were recording last album Angles - with singer Julian Casablancas taking himself out of sessions at one point - but relations between the group are now better than ever: "Fortunately they do love each other, and they have people around them who love them. Obviously we all take the wrong roads at times, especially when you're young. And some of us never come out of that road and end up in another world. The good thing about them is that, as I said, all these people that loved them and they loved each other and they finally realized that they had something going that was good."
Original KISS Lineup Would Never Reunite
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Reunions, Rock,
Paul Stanley would never be friends with Peter Criss or Ace Frehley again.
The KISS singer would never allow the band's former guitarist and drummer - who left in the 80s, but rejoined the band between 1996 and 2002 and 2001 respectively - to play with the group again and claims they were never very close even in their 70s heyday.
"Friends? No I was never really friends with them. The band was never about friendship, the band was about commitment to a cause, but friendship? We were all very different people. I loved them for what we created together, I certainly don't love them today. But the band as it is today is far more the embodiment of what we started than what we became," Paul said.
When asked when he had last spoke with his former bandmates, Paul said, "I spoke to Ace probably three years ago. Peter I haven't spoken to in probably a decade."

Keith Richards is an ‘Introvert and Articulate’
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Rock,
Keith Richards is always "introvert and articulate," even when he used to take hard drugs.
The Rolling Stones guitarist - famous for his hellraising past, including vast amounts of drinking and drug abuse - is much quieter and considered than people imagine, according to his band mate Charlie Watts.
"Keith is very quiet. The image he puts over, or people put on him, he's not like that at all. Or not very often. He's introverted and incredibly articulate, even when he was on a lot of junk [heroin]. He's strong. My relationship with Keith is very good, but we don't do much more than just laugh at each other," Charlie said.
Charlie also told about how Keith once took in a stray dog during a tour in Russia, which he keeps as his pet to this day: "The last dog he picked up was on tour in Russia: Rasputin. It was a stray which wandered in backstage and, typical Keith, 'I'll have that.' He fed him some chops and, of course, the dog loved it. From then on it was like living at The Ritz for Rasputin. He lives the high life now in Connecticut with Keith's two pugs."

The "We Found Love" hitmaker was due to perform at the event in Madrid, Spain on Thursday, but cancelled her headline appearance following the death of her beloved grandmother, Clara "Dolly" Braithwaite, at the weekend.
Organizers of the festival have confirmed they are trying to book a replacement for the grieving star but are also offering fans refunds. Her performance at this weekend's Wireless Festival in London's Hyde Park is still scheduled to go ahead.

Blur unveiled two new tracks last night.
The "Song 2" band performed "Under the Westway" and "The Puritan" from a rooftop at a secret location via a live video stream, watched by fans around the world.
The band last staged a reunion show in 2009 but are back together again for a special show on August 12 in London, to mark the end of the Olympics. He did, however, add, "There's never been a period where more than six months have gone by and we haven't stuck our heads in and had a bish-bash. It's just really, really good fun."

Adam Levine is Excited for Maroon 5’s ‘Rebirth’
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Alternative, Pop,
Adam Levine sees Maroon 5's new album as a "rebirth" of the group. The band are releasing fourth record, Overexposed, and frontman Adam wants it to show a different side to him and his bandmates.
"People often misinterpreted confidence or my playful cockiness with arrogance. I'm certainly an extremely humble person and my mother raised me right. I'm always polite, I'm always nice and never mean. And I'm excited, so excited to talk about the new record as I see it as a rebirth for Maroon 5," said the singer, who is joined by Michael Madden, PJ Morton, James Valentine and Matt Flynn in the band.
Adam also said he struggled when critics used to give him and the band - who went through a period where they didn't have a single hit between 2007's "Makes Me Wonder" and 2011's "Moves Like Jagger" - a tough time: "I put my heart and soul into our songs and love them, so when someone writes they don't like them or me, it hurt. But the ups and downs have been really important. And now I don't know why it's working, but it seems to be, so I keep doing it. Now it's OK to like us. For ages it was uncool to like Maroon 5."
Lady Gaga Causes Controversy With New Song About Princess Diana
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Pop, New Releases,
Lady Gaga has come under fire for her new song about Princess Diana's death.
The "Bad Romance" star premiered new track "Princess Die" in Melbourne, Australia and outraged royal fans with her risque lyrics, which appear to reference the Princess of Wales' tragic death in a Paris car accident in 1997.
"And wish that I would go / In my rich boyfriend's limo / Right after he proposed / With a 16-carat stone wrapped in rose gold / With the papparazzi all swarming around /So bob head your head for another dead blonde," the lyrics read. Diana was fatally injured in a car crash in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris, while in a car with her lover Dodi Fayed, and it is rumored that the Harrods businessman had recently proposed to her.
The 26-year-old singer's lyrics have been blasted as distasteful, but the singer is no stranger to controversy, having caused outrage by performing in a wheelchair and wearing religious garb in the past.

Ludacris’ Progressive Album
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Upcoming Releases, Hip-Hop & Rap,
Ludacris' 8th album is a "progression" on his previous work.
The Atlanta-based rapper will soon release his new LP Ludaversal, and hopes fans of his unique style of rapping will see a new side to him.
"This album Ludaversal, it's all about progression. We're taking it to heights that you never, never seen before. I've had seven albums, so right now it's about trying to go to places that I haven't been," he said.
Ludacris - who has worked with the likes of Justin Bieber and Missy Elliott in the past - believes the new sound is heavily influenced by his travels around the globe: "I've been over the world for the past year and I brought a lot of experiences back with me and put them in the music. I've had a lot of personal experiences, so you're going to get to know the real me and things that have been going on over the past three or four years."
The album is due to be released on September 11.
